Appointments

We have an appointments system – appointments are for 10 minutes – If you have more than one problem you may feel you need to ask for a double appointment. Urgent and non-urgent appointments may be arranged by telephone or in person.

Non urgent medical advice

For any non urgent medical advice you could telephone 111 this service is available 24/7

Test Results

Please telephone between 10.00 am and 5.00 pm, Monday - Friday for results of tests requested by your doctor. The doctor or nurse will advise you when a result should be available and the receptionist will pass the doctor’s comments on to you.

Cancelling your Appointment

If you are unable to attend an appointment with one of the doctors or nurses, please telephone or call to let us know. 

Did not attend their GP or Nurse appointments

In the month of October 42 patients failed to attend their appointment with their doctor and 72 patient did not attend their booked appointment with the practice nurse.  Please make sure you telephone the surgery if you are unable to make your appointment, these could have been used by someone else.

Accessible Information Standard and Downloadable information

Accessible Information Standard

All organisations that provide NHS or adult social care must follow the accessible information standard by law by 31st July 2016. 

The aim of the accessible information standard is to ensure that anyone who has a disability, impairment or sensory loss has access to information which is easy to understand, also that they have communication support available to them should they require it. 

As part of the accessible information standard, organisations must do five things;

  • Ask people if they have any information or communication needs and find out how to meet those needs.
  • Record those needs clearly in a set way.
  • Highlight or flag the persons file or notes so it is clear that they have information or communication needs and how to meet those needs.
  • Share information about patients communication needs with other providers of NHS and Social care when given consent by the patient/carer to do so.
  • Ensure people receive information that they can access and understand. 

If you, or the person you are caring for, needs information sent out in an alternative format (eg large print/braille/easy read) or if you need help with communication, please let us know so that we can update your records.
