Appointments

We have an appointments system – appointments are for 10 minutes – If you have more than one problem you may feel you need to ask for a double appointment. Urgent and non-urgent appointments may be arranged by telephone or in person.

Non urgent medical advice

For any non urgent medical advice you could telephone 111 this service is available 24/7

Test Results

Please telephone between 10.00 am and 5.00 pm, Monday - Friday for results of tests requested by your doctor. The doctor or nurse will advise you when a result should be available and the receptionist will pass the doctor’s comments on to you.

Cancelling your Appointment

If you are unable to attend an appointment with one of the doctors or nurses, please telephone or call to let us know. 

Did not attend their GP or Nurse appointments

In the month of October 42 patients failed to attend their appointment with their doctor and 72 patient did not attend their booked appointment with the practice nurse.  Please make sure you telephone the surgery if you are unable to make your appointment, these could have been used by someone else.

APPOINTMENTS

This Practice has a ‘preferred doctor’ system, which we believe provides a higher and more consistent standard of medical care. You will normally be offered an appointment with your preferred Doctor, except in the case of emergency or when your Doctor is away, when an appointment will be made with another available Doctor. - Book online - ask for details

ROUTINE APPOINTMENTS

It would be appreciated if you could telephone for routine appointments after 11.30am. Appointments for routine and follow-up appointments should be made well in advance. Please remember that emergencies occur throughout the day and on occasions your Doctor may be delayed. You will be informed by the Receptionist if this happens and offered the choice of awaiting the Doctor’s return or making another appointment.

URGENT APPOINTMENTS – OUR TELEPHONE TRIAGE SYSTEM

For an urgent appointment for a problem that will not wait, please try to contact the Surgery as early as possible after 8.30am, where possible please telephone first rather than present at the surgery. Your details will be taken by the Receptionist and a Practice Nurse or the Nurse Practitioner will telephone you to assess whether the problem can be dealt with by the Nurse Practitioner or if you will need to see the Doctor.

KEEPING YOUR APPOINTMENT

To help us to continue to give the best possible service, it is important to attend your booked appointments with either the Doctor or the Nurse.

CANCELLING YOUR APPOINTMENT

If you are unable to attend for any reason, please cancel with as much notice as possible, so that we can slot another patient into the appointment space. This allows urgent cases to be seen as appropriate.  Cancel online - ask for details

TELEPHONE APPOINTMENTS

If you need to speak to your Doctor, but do not necessarily need to have an appointment, you may ask for the Doctor to telephone you and you will be given an approximate time that you will be called back

TEXT REMINDERS

We send confirmation and reminders when you book your appointment, please make sure we have your current mobile number, you are also able to cancel via text too.
