Our practice does not provide GP letters, sick notes or bespoke medical reports to confirm school absence or support attendance enquiries from schools or the Local Authority. Please do not book a GP appointment solely to obtain a letter.
Department for Education guidance says schools should not routinely ask for medical evidence. In most cases, a parent or carer’s explanation can be accepted. If the school needs further information, please speak to its attendance team about what evidence you already have, such as an appointment confirmation or prescription.
